As the days are counting down to the opening of the 25th edition of Securex South Africa, Africa’s biggest security and fire-focused trade exhibition, the exhibitors are sharing news of products and services that will be on show at Gallagher Convention Centre between 22 and 24 May 2018.
RikRhino Surveillance (stand H09), specialists in wireless surveillance and deployable technology solutions, will be showcasing a range of WCCTV products, including the Speed Dome, the Site Tower and the Body Worn Camera, which has received several awards for its ability to deliver live video and audio with real-time alerts and GPS information. The company will also display its full range of protective gear, including SlashPRO Slash Resistant Clothing, CutPRO cut resistant clothing and stab resistant vests, at this year’s show.
Bringing the local launch of its YFEL Free Standing Modular Concrete Wall System to the Securex floor this year is ReMaCon Products. The YFELs have been supplied to bulk mineral ore exporters who use them to separate minerals, such as chrome sand, lumpy chrome and ferro-manganese.
In addition to the standard YFEL there is strong local interest in the YFEL anti-climb model, which addresses security concerns in the South African market. Visitors will be able to source all the information they need at stand H02.
PSS Distributors will be exhibiting its Vision Series Inverter, a hybrid solar inverter that comes with a built-in charger and MPPT regulator for solar panels. These units (on demo at stand C08) are easy to install and are wall mountable. They provide information on the status of the inverter, such as the voltage, frequency and load, and use maximum power point tracking charge controllers to ensure one gets optimised power from solar panels.
Sky Electronics (stand B12) will be showcasing its services and solutions including fleet management, GPS monitoring, car alarm systems, SmartHome systems and others at the show. They join Priority Group Holdings (stand F11), who will be demonstrating the Zwipe Access contactless biometric credential, which includes an integrated fingerprint sensor and allows companies to upgrade to biometrics without needing to change a single reader or their existing system.
Simon Workwear will be launching its USA Camo Security Combat Set, which is unique to South Africa, as well as its AVIKELE range of security combat sets and uniforms on stand G03 this year. The AVIKELE security accessories visitors will be able to see and touch include batons, handcuffs, pepper sprays, torches, 2-way radios and Tasers. Also on show is Simon Workwear’s entire range of PATRIOT combat footwear. Visiting the Simon Workwear stand will offer visitors an interactive experience as well as a chance to win some great prizes.
Magtouch Electronics, who will be at stand H04, will also be announcing several new mobile apps that have been specially built to serve the security industry. It’s all hush-hush right now but they will tell us that solutions now exist that enable a virtual control room, personnel monitoring and reporting from a mobile device. Also on show will be a Mini Rock Baton, which fits into the palm of your hand. All will be revealed during the show!
There will be many new product announcements this year and joining these is XGRC Software (stand C15b) who will be introducing the MSX Cyber range, ISO 27001 Gap Audits and Self Service Server Monitoring (SSSM) for the first time in South Africa at the show.
DB Projects and Agencies offer solutions to the security and property management industries and will be showing new systems. The Vanguard Guard Monitoring Unit and the Imbizo PTT will be on demo for the duration of the exhibition at LN01.
Longse Technology will be presenting its entire range of CCTV camera, DVR and NVR innovations at stand E16, while Nemtek, manufacturers and suppliers of electric fencing products, will be showing the Druid range of energisers. Using the Adaptive Power Technology (APT) pioneered by Nemtek, these energisers offer a unique technology to detect how much power a fence can accept and handle before it starts to arc and waste energy. This maximises the power on the fence and minimises false alarms. Visitors can see the Druid range in action on LN06.
Duxbury Networking will exhibit a range of interactive security solutions at the Securex 2018 exhibition. Visitors to stand D02 will be able to examine the most recent global advances in technologies poised to strengthen the overall security blanket demanded by many organisations today. The latest security-focused offerings from some of the world’s leading vendors including Milestone, Axis and Quanergy will be highlighted.
Duxbury will also have daily giveaways and competitions on the stand for the duration of the show.
Vault and Safe Solutions (stand C01) will show a new line of fog machines with round design. Powerful and fast, these machines are able to protect small and large areas as they cover volume spaces from 250m³ to 500m³ depending on the model. Also on show will be its Pro-Plus line, which uses cylinder technology and is able to protect volume spaces from 200m³ to 1200m³.
SCAN IN is a BN Data app which will assist security personnel with easy tracking of vehicles and pedestrians that come in and out of residential complexes and office parks, among other guarded premises. SCAN IN scans the details of all pedestrians, vehicles and drivers when they enter premises, and records the information on a system which eliminates writing down everything in a book, thus saving time for both visitors and guards. Over the last 35 years, SE Controls has been developing innovative control systems that harness sustainable natural elements to create a safer and healthier indoor environment. Among the key products being displayed on the SE Controls stand A10 this year are the SECO Ni 24 25 and SECO Ni 24 40 chain actuators; OS2 SHEVTEC Controller and OSLoop Co-ordinator; Manual Control Point (MCP) units and NVLogiQ™ Room Controller.
Digital ID Technologies will be introducing mobile printing as well as a new low-cost printer made for Africa at its stand F01 at the show. Its mobile printing solution offers mobile enrolment via tablet and incorporates iON technology (by HID), which enables better printer control and high quality resin printing with clear, variable printing technologies. Also on show will be the company’s ID card printers, including the HID Fargo Card printer range.
Paxton, the global brand of electronic IP access control and door entry solutions, will showcase its new Net2 Entry Premium Monitor at Securex at stand C11 in Hall 2 along with other solutions. The show will be the first opportunity for installers to see the new addition to the company’s video door entry family of systems. Installers who visit the Paxton stand will also be entered in a daily prize draw promotion and have a chance to win a Bose SoundLink Mini Bluetooth speaker worth over R3,500.
AxxonSoft will be launching a new security solution at the Securex show. The company is keeping mum around the exact details about the solution, only known as IMC for the moment, but has assured the South African surveillance industry that something big is coming. The IMC system, which has only been implemented by governments in the past, has now been developed and packaged for use by the private sector. Be sure to be near stand E32 for the big announcement.
The Risk Diversion stand (D28) will be playing host to several partners for the duration of the show. On stand, visitors will be able to see demonstrations of the hard- and software used to extract data from mobile devices (from MSAB Kiosk), and they will also be privy to demonstrations on facial recognition, voice biometrics and audio enhancement (from STC Speechpro). Also on the Risk Diversion stand is Bishop Tech, who will show various products in the middleware connectivity field, and Amped Software, who will be demonstrating forensic image and video enhancement innovations.
Visitors will be invited to try and “unlock the box” and stand a chance to win some awesome Risk Diversion giveaways!
Last, but certainly not least, Ndende Technologies has announced that it will be zoning in its focus this year on its facial recognition technology, which allows users to perform complex searches on persons in real-time camera streams. The latest version, on show at stand C20, introduces a more user-friendly interface that allows for quick importing and detailed investigation of videos and image files. This is a must-see for visitors this year.
